Suraya (Milya Marshaeva)

Suraya – Weaver of Visions, Shaper of Dreams

Born in the breathtaking Caucasus Mountains and raised along the shores of the Caspian Sea, Suraya carries the spirit of both rugged peaks and endless waters in her artistry. From an early age, she was captivated by the traditional dances and intricate costumes of her homeland, weaving the rich cultural heritage of the region into her creative expression.

Suraya is a mixed-media artist whose work bridges the seen and unseen, weaving textures, colors, and poetic whispers into layered imagery. With a background in art and a passion for costume design, wall art, and visual storytelling, she explores the intricate relationship between nature, emotion, and the human spirit.

During the quiet transformation of the pandemic, she deepened her connection to the Universal vessel, opening her heart to receive poetry as echoes from the collective consciousness. This awakening gave birth to her multi-layered compositions—expressions of her deep reverence for nature. Her artwork invites you into a world where the physical and the spiritual converge, where every leaf, every stone, and every whispering breeze carries the rhythm of the universe. A mother of three, she finds inspiration where the stars and mountains meet, breathing life into her creations. Currently based in Santa Cruz mountains, Suraya continues to push the boundaries of mixed media, crafting experiences that evoke introspection, transformation, and a profound connection to the world around us.

“You don’t need to be an artist to make art—just let your spirit lead you inward”.
