Paul Kobel lovingly known to many as Tashi, a north coast lifer….Born in San Leandro Ca and studied at Humboldt State university in Arcata Ca behind the redwood curtain has a degree in psychology and studio ceramics. Since Humboldt he has resided in Oakland Ca tucked in the hills and fog of the east bay. His whole life has been influenced by nature and the great outdoors. Be it the north with it’s amazing coastal vistas or the sandy beaches that drape our amazing coast line or the sunsets and moon scapes….nature has captivated and captured his soul and his art expresses that.

With a degree in psychology and art he followed his bliss as he calls it.

A deep connection with music, dance and creativity are a major motivation for his paintings….. Expressive in nature and a celebration of color Tashi currently uses acrylic paints on canvas as his vehicle to celebrate life. Seascapes, trees and an other yet to be revealed themes are explored.
